My name is Ramiro Rafart Pueyo, welcome to my site 😊
I love being able to have an idea in my head and then being able to see it done thanks to programming.
Since I was a child I was interested in everything related to computers and how computers worked, I wanted to create those programs that were running on my computer and I started self-taught in the world of programming. First BASIC, then C and C ++ until I had my first Mac and my interest in Cocoa, the API of the renowned OS X as macOS, was in augment.
📲 Coding for Apple devices is my great passion for some years now. I started programming my apps for Macintosh computers and with the arrival of the iPhone SDK (later renamed as iOS) is when I really started to have fun building iPhone apps.
During the following years I have continued building apps for iOS devices with Swift programming language and the recently introduced watchOS and tvOS.
But lately I’ve used a better term for what I’m doing: 👨🏻💻 Software Artisan
A craftsman is a craftsman who does things by hand.
Think about it for a second. It describes the central tenet of what developers do and the main reason why software project management is so hard to handle.
🖥 Every line of code, every transformation from idea to code, every jump in intuition is essentially a manual process. There’s no way to automate everything, no way to predict everything.
Every day I do a whole new thing in my job. No matter how many meetings, how much business development, technical support and swearing I make during the day, I will still someday try to do something I’ve never tried before, something new and exciting. Odds are even I can try something, nobody has ever tried, just the way I try.
Chances are that I will fail many times a day.
And whatever code I write, whatever software I develop, it is done by hand, unique for me.
Therefore, developers are software artisans. What do you think of this reflection? Am I the only one who thinks this? Because I don’t think so 😊
